Gunshots in the Cold

Shortly after Christmas, an amateur kick boxer is found dead in her bathroom in Zürich’s Wollishofen district. Soon afterward, the body of an older woman is discovered in the village of Mettmenstetten. The only thing the two cases have in common is that both victims were shot with deformation bullets. Yet the silence of Lukasch, a Ukrainian acquaintance of the kick boxer, begins to arouse suspicion that grows with his persistent refusal to talk. Does the trail lead eastward? Then an Albanian drug dealer known as «the eagle» is shot down in the middle of the street, and it’s clear that the murderer will stop at nothing, not even violence against children. Solving the case becomes a race against time.

This is a story of power and money, organized crime, and love put to a difficult test.

“Gunshots in the Cold” (German: Kalte Schüsse) is the third case that Regina Flint and Bruno Cavalli take on together.

“Ivanov’s multilayered characterizations make this a very convincing read.”
