Into the Fire

Local politician and environmental activist Moritz Kienast is committed to a lakeshore path around Lake Zurich – even if that would mean expropriating land from the owners of the villas that line the shore. Suddenly, Kienast disappears. Is he just enjoying a breather from the hostility of his opponents, or does the seemingly squeaky-clean politician have secrets to hide? A short time later, a charred corpse turns up in a cabin in the Albis hills above the city, and it's clear to district attorney Regina Flint that she's dealing with a very unusual crime. The situation makes her long even more for the speedy return of police detective Bruno Cavalli from his FBI undercover assignment in the U.S.

The novel is an unsparing revelation of how casually uttered wishes can lead to violence.

“Into the Fire” (German: Heiße Eisen) is the seventh case solved by Regina Flint and Bruno Cavalli.

“Petra Ivanov is great at creating and conveying atmosphere.”
